TECHIMAN N: Reg School feeding coordinator meets caterers

The Brong Ahafo Regional Coordinator of the Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP), Madam Doris Asamoah, have paid a familiarisation visit to the Techiman North District to have firsthand information about caterers are effectively implementing the Program.

In a meeting with the caterers, Madam Doris applauded the District Chief Executive for the area, Mr Peter Mensah for his role in providing financial support for caterers who are new to the job and require such motivation and guidelines.

She encouraged the caterers who are all women to show commitment in delivering their mandate so as to justify the confidence reposed in them by the president.

She warned that the secretariat will not hesitate to abrogate the contract of caterers who compromise the quality of food served to the school children as well as those who do not abide by the menu provided.

She also noted that, the programme is not just intended to feed the pupils, but to also improve their health by providing them with quality and nutritious meal adding that as a regional coordinator, it is incumbent on her to ensure that the GSFP programme succeeds without setbacks as witnessed in the previous administration.

The DCE, Peter Mensah for his part said as the DCE for the area, he is ready to provide support to the caterers to ensure the smooth running of the program.

He has therefore led to secure a loan at a reasonable interest rate for the caterers and is optimistic that this would cushion their financial challenges.

He also called on the regional coordinator to organize a training on effective management and better cooking skills for the caterers to get them well prepared for the job.
