498 candidates write this year’s WASSCE at Tuobodom
Tuobodom Senior High/Technical School in the Techiman North District has successfully ended this year's West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).

A total of 498 candidates took part in the examination conducted by the West African Examination Council (WAEC). The number comprises 292 males and 206 females.
The Assistant Headmaster for Academics, Mr. Osei Daniel disclosed this to news men during a tour of the school as part of measures to monitor the just ended examination.
Out of the total number, 4 candidates failed to write the exams. Mr. Osei however could not give reasons for their absenteeism. He further indicated that one of the female candidates who delivered during the examination period managed to write all her papers.
Mr. Osei was optimistic that this year’s batch will yield good results because, the school authorities adopted some measures which enabled teachers to cover all syllabus. He noted that candidates have also improved their learning capacity and were fully prepared for the exams.
According to him, they did not encounter any examination malpractice which he commended the candidates for comporting themselves and lauded the invigilators for good supervision.
Meanwhile, the District Education Directorate is also preparing towards the upcoming Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE). The District Examination Coordinator, Mr. Dery Augustine disclosed that 1335 candidates consisting of 686 males and 649 females have been registered for this year’s BECE.
He indicated that the district has 5 examination centers. He also stated that measures have been put in place to secure vehicles from the District Assembly to convey the exams papers from the main depot to the various examination centers in the district.
