Techiman North Assembly gives scholarship to BECE candidates

The Techiman North District Assembly has given scholarship to two students who distinguished themselves in the district with the results they attained during the 2016 Basic Education Certificate Examination.

This has become an annual activity by the Assembly to sponsor the secondary education of students who distinguish themselves in the Basic Education Certificate Examination, both male and female.

This was announced during this year's Independence Day anniversary celebration at Tuobodom, the district capital.The beneficiary students for this year's awards were Abayima Felicia who attended Offuman Methodist Junior High and Forson Nyame Eric from Akrofrom Freeman Methodist Junior High and are currently at SHS 1 at St. Francis Girls Senior High Schools at Jirapa and Opoku Ware Senior High School at Kumasi respectively.

The Member of Parliament for Techiman North constituency, Hon. Martin Oti Gyarko promised to give each of them a laptop computer and to also support them through their education.

The MP said he is ready to support and help improve education in the district. He advised the students to take their education serious and with determination, they can all make it.

The beneficiary students thanked the Assembly and the MP for the support giving to them and promised to do their best in their various senior high schools to justify the support the Assembly is giving them.

They took the opportunity to encourage the other students to study and taking their studies serious with that they can also benefit from the scheme.
