AKROFUOM: YEA recruits 6 people for the school support programme

The School Support Programme, a new module of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) has been rolled out in the Akrofuom District.

The module is one of the newest under the YEA in partnership with the Ghana Education Service (GES) aimed at ensuring the safety of students and staff of the various senior high schools in the country.

The module is also to create a supportive and orderly environment conducive for educational activities and also to augment the staff strength of the current security and pantry staff of the various schools across the country.

Introducing the newly recruited personnel to the District Chief Executive, at his office on Wednesday morning, the District Coordinator for YEA, Mr. Francis Amponsah said the agency has many modules all in a bid to ensure that the teeming youth get some of employment.

He added that the personnel will be engaged for the next two years of which they can apply again if they want to still be maintained the module.

Mr. Amponsah again revealed that the agency will use part of its fund allocation to fund the two streams under the programme which are School Guards or Security Assistants and Kitchen Assistants.

The District Chief Executive, Hon Maurice Jonas Woode congratulated the personnel on their appointment and urged them to work hard to earn the confidence reposed in them by their employees.

He also assured that the government and the Assembly will continue to assist them to make their work simple and enjoyable.
