Akrofuom District endorses Peter Amponsah as Presiding Member

The Akrofuom District Assembly members have unanimously re-elected Mr. Peter Amponsah as the Presiding Member for the Assembly.

At the close of nominations, he was the only candidate who filed to contest as the PM of the assembly and got 100 per cent votes of all 18 Assembly Members who were present at the meeting in an election organized by the district electoral officer, Mrs. Cynthia Adwubi Sarfo.

Mr. Amponsah was grateful to his peers for the endorsement and pledged to work with all members for the development of the area.

He then called for the support from all and the Traditional Authorities within the district to rally behind the leadership of the assembly to chart a new path for the area.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area, Mr. Maurice Jonas Woode, commended the assembly members for electing a PM which he said is an indication of their readiness to plan the development agenda of the District.
