Persons with Disabilities receive support
The Akrofuom District Assembly has presented items worth over GH?17,000 to 18 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) to enable them fend for themselves and be self-reliant.

Item presented include deep freezers, mist blowers, knitting machines, spraying machine, wheel chair and industrial sewing machines.
Forty-three other persons were given educational support while the Assembly supported a 155 people to renew their Health insurance.
Presenting the items, the District Chief Executive (DCE) of the area, Maurice John Woode told the beneficiaries that the gesture is from the Assembly’s share of the Common Fund and appealed to them to make good use of the items received.
The Secretary of the Akrofuom Chapter of Ghana Federation of Disables, Mrs. Sarah Tieku, commended the District Chief Executive and the government for the disbursement.
She appealed to the beneficiaries to use the items for their intended purpose in order to sustain their livelihoods.
Mrs. Tieku then appealed to the government and other stakeholders including the media to create a pleasant environment for persons with disabilities to have voice.
