Ahafo Regional stakeholder Engagements on proposed National Policy on Religion has been held at Zienel Oasis Hotel, Goaso.

According to Mr. Joseph Kwesi Director for Finance and Administration at the Ministry of Chieftaincyand Religious Affairs, noted that the purpose of the proposed National Policy of religion was a result of concerns from the citizens to have a harmonious co-existence among all persons in the country no matter what. According to him it was very vital in the formulation of the policy to engage all stakeholders.
Again Mr Haruna Zaguon -Sayeed, an expert from the Department of the study of religion, University of Ghana also hammered on the need to have a policy on religion. He emphasized that to maintain peace in the country every stakeholder has an important role to play.
Mr Faisal Bawa, a representative from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) also charged various participants to always consider the youth in their proposed National Policy on religion in order to reduce or curb some social vices like prostitution, robbery, drug abuse among others. Finally he said religion plays a vital role in transforming the lives of individuals.
.Key participants of the programme include; Director for Finance and Administration at the Ministry of Chieftaincyand Religious Affairs Mr. Joseph Kwesi Amoah who represented the Sector Minister, Mr Kanton L. Samad , Ahafo Regional Minister Representative, Dr Haruna Zaguon-Sayeed , key expert for the programme and a lecturer at University of Ghana in the department for the study of religion, Mr. Enoch Okyere, Ahafo Regional House of Chief Registrar and also the Moderator of the programme , Religious bodies, Institutions, Civil Society Organization, Traditional Authorities and the Security Agencies among others.
