MP donates building materials to Asarfo Nursing Training

The Member of Parliament (MP) for Sefwi Wiawso Constituency in the Western North Region, Dr. Kwaku Afriyie together with the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Sefwi Wiawso Municipal Assembly, Loius Agyapong have presented building materials worth over Seven Thousand Ghana Cedis (GHs 7000), to Asarfo Nursing Training College in the Wiawso Municipality.

The items included One Hundred and Fifty (150) bags of cement, Five (5) trips of Sand among others to support the ongoing construction of classroom block to provide more space ahead of the September Admission.

Hon. Agyapong while presenting the items, said, their outfits will continue to provide logistics to support the school to fit the standards of other Nursing Colleges.

He revealed that, the support was in response to the request made by the school authorities and tasked them to use the materials for the intended purpose.

The MCE, who presented the items on behalf of the Member of Parliament for the area, thanked the residents of Sefwi Asarfo for their numerous efforts to establish a community day school which was later adopted by the government.

He also, acknowledged the key leaders in the area through their intervention the school was adopted namely, the Minister for Western North Region, who was then the Deputy Minister for Health, Hon. Aboagya Gyedu, Dr. Kwaku Afriyie (MP), Lawyer kwasi Blay and others for the good work done.

The Secretary of the School Committee, Mr. John Smith Damas who received the items on behalf of the school management, thanked the political actors for their quick response to slove the major challenged confronting the school.

He also used the opportunity to call on other Companies, Banks, and NGO’s and Civil society operating within their jurisdiction to come to their aid.
