Kwahu East Assembly moves to achieve revenue target

The District Chief Executive of the Kwahu East in the Eastern Region, Mr Isaac Agyapong has said that the Assembly remains poised to implement more prudent measures to ensure that it achieve its revenue target for the year 2021.

According to him, the Assembly had as of October 2021 mobilized a total amount of about Four Hundred and Sixty Eight thousand, and nine hundred and fifty three Ghana Cedis thirty pesewas (GHs 468,953.36) out of the total projected figure of five hundred, six hundred and thirty seven Ghana Cedis fifty pesewas (GHs 500,637.50).

This represents 93.67% of the estimated figure.

The DCE disclosed this when delivering his address at the Assembly’s second ordinary general meeting at Abetifi, the district capital.


Mr Agyapong, who reacting to the Assembly’s mobilization to help fund its numerous developmental projects said “the financial position of the assembly in terms of Internal Revenue Generation is encouraging but still needs to be improved.”

He therefore appealed to Assembly members and Departmental Heads to do their best to ensure that the Assembly achieves its revenue target.

Touching on achievements in the sector of education, the DCE revealed that, a total number of fourteen projects have been completed with eight projects currently ongoing.


He added that the assembly had since last year distributed over 2,125 mono and dual desk, 100 tables and chairs to basic schools across the district.

On school feeding, he revealed that 24 schools are currently benefitting from the school feeding programme in the area, adding that enrollment of the Free SHS policy in the district has significantly increased enrolment by over 200 percent in all senior high schools in the district.
