ASANTE A S: Asuboa-Dampong Road gets facelift

The cries of residents and commercial drivers along the Asuboa-Dampong stretch of road in the Asante Akim Municipal Assembly of the Ashanti Region over the bad nature of their road network will soon be a thing of the past.

Speaking with Ghanadistricts.com, the Municipal Chief Executive of the area, Mr Alexander Frimpong said, the contract for this 16.4 km road, stretching from Asankare to Amoana-Praso, was awarded in January, 2017 but was shortly suspended and It was later given approval for a re-start due to the massive lobbying by the MP for the Constituency, Mr. Kwaku Asante Boateng, the MCE and other stakeholders and opinion leaders.

Mr. Frimpong said, Commuters will be free from the constant dust in the dry season and mud in the rainy season that engulfs them as they used the road.

People in the communities along the road and drivers expressed their joy and thanked the Government, MP, MCE, and other stakeholders that made the road construction possible for saving them from the compounding nightmares that this road gave them.

The MCE explained that many of the roads in the Asante-Akim South Municipality are under construction.
