DCE pays working visit to quarry sites

The purpose of the visit was to enable the team to familiarise themselves with opportunities and challenges faced by the industries in their routine operations. About seven companies played hosts to the team including K.K. Quarry, Brosa Minerals, Modern Granite, ESM Co. Ltd, World Cool Stone Quarry Ltd., Adututu Quarry and KAS Products Ltd.
Accompanying the DCE were the Secretary to the DCE, Ms Pamela Agyeiwaa Agyeman, District Planning Officer, Mr.Ebenezer Quarm,District Engineer, Mr. Rickson Tetteh, and District Information Officer, Mr. Rexford Sarfo,among others.
Hon. Ankrah urged them to always liaise with the Assembly, assuring them of her outfit's support since their operations were of great value, with their immense contributions to the cause and development of the district.
She commended them for the serene environment but noted with concern the lack of safety materials in some of the industries.
Hon Ankrah used the occasion to appeal to the communities to set right any undesirable situation with the companies and collaborate with them for the development of the district.
For their parts, the management highlighted the challenges facing them, citing the menace of land encroachment as one of the major sources of threat to the industries.
They prevailed on the Assembly to assist in finding lasting solutions for the prevalent peace and mutual coexistence.
At KAS Products Ltd, the Manager, Mr. Emmanuel Kwasi Addei disclosed the company was the first quarry industry to be established in the District having been in operation for the past 20 years.
He cited the numerous support for the welfare of the citizens and the development of some of the communities in their area of catchment.
