Ejura Sekyedumase Assembly desilts drains ahead of the rainy season

The Ejura Sekyedumase Municipal Assembly is currently working seriously to desilt all choked drains ahead of the rainy season to prevent perennial flooding in the area.

The project is ongoing in communities such as Ejura Township Maame Dade Junction, Amankwaa Dade Junction among others.

Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the area, Mr Mohammed Salisu Bamba, who disclosed this at the first ordinary meeting, further stated that, the exercise is a collaborative work between the Environmental Health Unit of the Assembly and the Prisons Service.

He revealed that the Assembly has taken delivery of refuse containers from the Ministry of Local Govt and Rural Development to improve sanitation in the area.

He added that a sanitation vehicle has also been given to the Zoomlion group in the Municipality to improve their work municipality.

He ceased the opportunity to call on Assembly-members to sensitize their electorates against indiscriminate waste disposal in gutters to ensure free flow of water whenever it rains.
