According to the MCE, the existing market infrastructure is inadequate to meet the demands of the growing population and expanding commercial activities in Konongo.

Suzan Akomeah noted that a modern market would provide traders with a safer and more conducive trading environment while improving sanitation, supporting local businesses and boosting economic activity within the municipality.

She therefore called on the government, development partners and other stakeholders to support the municipality in securing the necessary resources for the construction of a modern market in Konongo.

The MCE stressed that the project would contribute significantly to the socio-economic development of Konongo and improve the livelihoods of traders and residents.
