Seventy-five out of the 450 streetlights procured by the Assembly at the cost of GHS50,242.70 were however reserved for the highways and other strategic locations.

Each of the 25 elected members received 15 of the street lights, at a brief presentation ceremony held at Konongo-Odumase.

Mrs. Susan Akomeah, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), said the Assembly procured the lights from its share of the Common Fund to improve security in various communit es in the Municipality.

She said the security of the people was a topmost priority of the Assembly and that it would continue to put in place pragmatic measures to secure the safety of the citizenry.

She charged the Assembly members to install the lights at the right places in order to benefit all the communities.

They should do this in collaboration with members of the Unit Committees and avoid unilateral decisions that would serve their personal interests, with the district level elections fast approaching.
