KUMAWU: Rainstorm victims receive relief items
Residents in the Sekyere Kumawu District who suffered some losses about a two weeks ago after a rainstorm ripped of roofings of their houses have received support.

Some one hundred and fifty (150) buildings including classrooms and churches were affected by the rainstorm, leaving a number of people homeless.
However, to assist these rainstorm victims get on with their lives, the National Director of Electronics at the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS), Dr Philip Yaw Bannor on behalf of Saving Life International has presented 10 packets of roofing sheets to the Directorate of the Kumawu National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) for onward distribution to the victims.
Dr Yaw Bannor opined during the presentation that, the gesture they have made is necessary yet a lot more would be needed to provide a sigh of relief to the affected persons.
He continued that he would spearhead an advocacy to bring on board other non-governmental organisations and corporate organisations would come in to support.
Mr Emmanuel Obeng, the NADMO Director at the Sekyere Kumawu District eulogised the donors for their benevolence and went further to appealed that, the situation of the victims needs more attention therefore the government must intervene with immediate effect.
