Tarkwa MCE cuts sod for eight projects

The Municipal Chief Executive for Tarkwa-Nsuaem, Gilbert Ken Asmah has cut sod to commence the construction of eight (8) infrastructure projects in the Municipality.

The infrastructure projects include three unit classroom block with office, store, staff common room and computer laboratory at Domeabra, construction of concrete overhead tank at Dompim, completion of three unit classroom block with office, store, staff common room at Amantin, Construction of Community centre at Essaman Kakraba, construction of sixteen seater aqua privy toilet facility and Urinal at Dadwen, construction of mechanised boreholes at Kyekyewere and the construction of six unit classroom facility at Nyanso Nkran.

In his speech during the ceremony, the MCE noted that the projects forms part of the Assembly’s responsibility to provide infrastructure development to the area, adding that, the projects will go a long way to improve the social service delivery in the Municipality.

He reiterated that education of the Ghanaian citizenry still remains the top most priority of the government, adding that the Nana Akufo-Addo led NPP government is committed to make education accessible to all regardless of location and that is why “we are building more schools so that the children can have easy access to school”.

Handing over the projects to the contractors, Mr Asmah urged the contractors to use more of the local contents and also complete the projects on schedule to enable the communities to benefit from them in the shortest possible time, he said.

The funding of the projects is drawn from the Internally Generated Fund (IGF) of the Assembly, Minerals Development Fund (MDF) and the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF), he mentioned.

One of the contractors, Builders Captain Construction Limited assured the Assembly and the beneficiary of a speedy and quality delivery of work.

“I will complete the work within the scheduled period but with the help of the Assembly”, he said.

Nana Abena Kunadjoa II, Queen mother of Wassa Fiase Traditional Area commended the Nana Addo led government for the good work it has been doing since assumption of office in barely two and half years and also thanked the MCE for bringing such developmental projects to their communities.
