Tarkwa-Nsauem Assembly holds first town hall meeting

Tarkwa-Nsuaem Municipal Assembly has held this year's first town hall meeting at Akoon Club House on 26th April 2023, with the theme, BUILDING OUR COMMUNITIES THROUGH EFFECTIVE PARTICIPATION.

According to the Municipal Chief Executive Benjamin Kessie, effective participation helps to confront issues of equity in allocation of resources for growth and ensures that all person's including those from deprived segments of the communities are reached accordingly for a collective growth.

"Achieving this goal demands a great sense of commitment, unity, moral fortitude and tolerance". He added.

The MCE further said, over the years, the Assembly has built on the strong collaboration with the communities through series of public engagements to ensure that they appreciate their unique abilities to improve on their communities.

He said efforts have been made to advance growth in the areas of education, peace, security, health, agriculture, water, sanitation, local economic development, justice and administration, and pleaded they build confidence in the process of development to further strengthen areas of critical growth for the advancement of good governance and improved quality of life.

He ended by saying as part of progress on plan implementation during the year 2022, a total of 134 projects and programmes representing 97.81% were implemented out of the total 137 planned activities and this therefore means that the Assembly performed creditably well in the previous year in achieving its target.

“I wish to unreservedly use this opportunity to also commend various institutions, individuals, stakeholders and all development partners especially Goldfields Ghana Limited, AngloGold Ashanti Iduapriem Limited and Ghana Manganese Company Limited for their impactful contribution towards the socio-economic growth of the Municipality he added”.

He also disclosed that a total of 134 projects and programmes were implemented out of 137 planned activities in 2022 and as such it has been a remarkable platform to share what they have achieved together over the years across all sectors for the advancement of the Municipality.
