He said the National Service Scheme is intended to imbue into them the spirit of selflessness for the state.
Mr. Woode added that if they serve the district selflessly, their efforts will be noticed and rewarded, adding that most graduates after their service fail to secure a permanent job due to their lackadaisical attitude during their term of service.
He made this known when the National Service Secretariat in the district hosted the newly posted personnel at a meeting at the Assembly Hall of the Assembly.
He said government is very much aware of the unemployment issue in the country thus frantic efforts being done to address them. He added that the introduction of NABCO and the already existing YEA Programmes is an attestation to government’s fight unemployment.
For his part, the District National Service Coordinator, Mr. Richard Owusu welcomed the personnel to the district and admonished them to work hard as service personnel in order to ‘catch the eye’ of their bosses for future recommendations and promotions.
He also advised the personnel to be good ambassadors of the Assembly wherever they find themselves and be very submission to their bosses.
He reiterated the need for them to be selfless in their duties since their steps will be monitored and remarked for future recommendation.
The personnel were also trained on their duties and responsibilities by sis. Veronica Kontor.
The participants were grateful to the secretariat and promised to work hard to improve the image of the district.
