Dormaa Municipality records 1, 341 candidates sitting for WASSCE
A total of 1, 341 candidates are writing the West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE) at Dormaa-Ahenkro in the Dormaa Central Municipality of Bono Region.

Candidates participating in the examination are from two public and two private Senior High Schools (SHSs), which are; Dormaa and Salvation Army SHSs (public) and Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) and Adehyeman SHSs (private).
Briefing the Ghana News Agency at Dormaa-Ahenkro, Mr. Michael Ignatius Anaisie, the Public Relations Officer of the Municipal Education Directorate said Dormaa SHSpresented 597 candidates, 331 males, and 266 females, while the Salvation Army SHS also presented 180 candidates, comprising 84 males and 96 females.
The figures for the CAC and Adehyeman SHSs were not available, Mr. Anaisie said, but a total figure of 777 for Dormaa and Salvation Army SHSs implied that the total number of candidates for CAC and Adehyeman SHSs are; 564, he explained.
Mr. Anaisie added that as part of a monitoring plan to check examination malpractices to guarantee a fair, credible, and incident-free examination, the Municipal Director of Education would be making unannounced visits to examination centres.
He said "an invigilator is not permitted to take an android phone and digital watches to an examination hall whilst candidates are also not allowed to take along any type of mobile phone.
