DCMA commissions an ultra-modern classroom
Dormaa Central Municipal Assembly has commissioned an ultra-modern six-unit classroom block at Dabaabi in the Dormaa Central Municipality in the Bono region.

The commissioning of the completed Dabaabi M/A Basic School was in fulfillment of a promise made to the school by the Municipal Chief Executive for Dormaa Central, Drissa Quattara after the leadership of the school and the Municipal Education Directorate approached the Assembly for support.
The GHS440,000.00 six-unit ultra-modern classroom block includes a fully furnished six-unit classroom block with an office, store, and Staff Common Room, a six-seater KVIP, and a 2-unit urinal.
Commissioning the project, Hon. Drissa Quattara explained why the project which was completed in 2020, was being commissioned in 2022.
He commended the leadership of the school for maintaining the school after one year of occupation before its commissioning.
“I will commend the leadership of the school for ensuring proper maintenance of the facility since its opening in 2021 for use before its commission on Friday, June 24, 2022. You have indeed kept the facility well even after months of occupying it, it still looks new as if no activity has been going on here, you have indeed done well”, he accentuated.
He charged the school authorities and the town folks to continue to ensure proper maintenance of the facility.
On his part, the Dormaa Central Municipal Engineer, Seth Acheampong who supervised the project indicated that the project was sponsored by the District Development Fund after it was captured in the 2019 Mid-Year Budget of the Assembly as an emergency need due to a disaster that destroyed the old structure that year. He assured the municipality that the facility is up to standard and expressed hope for its longevity.
“The facility is up to standard and I am hopeful it will last for long because it has undergone Quality Assurance test by officials from national therefore its quality is assured. They even commended the Assembly for quality work done and rated the project as one of the standardized projects in the country per their inspections done”, he assured.
Receiving the facility on behalf of the school, the head teacher for the school Obeng Atta Robert commended the MCE and the Assembly for relieving them of a ten-year-old burden of teaching and learning under an unconducive facility.
He said, “the new project has improved teaching and learning and has boosted the performance of the school children”.
On his part, the Dormaa Municipal Circuit Supervisor for Education, Atta Jacob on behalf of the Director commended the MCE for reaching out to their call.
The Assembly Member for Dabaabi Electoral Area, Anaane Kwartengalso stressed the community will be forever grateful to the MCE for paying heed to their plea.
Some of the students who shared their joy with Adiyia FM expressed deep appreciation and iterated that the new facility will go a long way to foster teaching and learning.
