Dr. Bawumia donates 500 bags of cements to support Islamic SHS

The Vice President of Republic of Ghana, Dr.Mammudu Bawumia has donated 500 bags of cements towards the establishment of first Islamic SHS in Dormaa Central Municipality in the Bono Region.

The donation forms part of his support and contribution towards Islamic education in the country.

The Vice President made the donation at the 28th Ramadan Conference and Launching of Islamic SHS in Dormaa Ahenkro.

The Dormaa Municipal Chief Executive Mr. Dreesah Quarttera who made the donation on behalf of the Vice President stated that Dr. Mammudu Bawumia is committed to support Islamic education in the country hence the donation.

He said,it is not true Muslims don't like education because we have so many Islamic educators in the country.

According to him the Islamic SHS will help promote Islamic education in the region.

The MP for Dormaa Central Mr. Kweku Agyeman Menu stated that since education is key for national development and president Akufo Addo is committed to enhance education in the country.

He donated ten thousand Ghana cedis and 100 bags of cement to support the project.

The Dormaa Municipal Chief Imam Skheik Ibrahim stated that the children learnt Islamic culture and value from the basic and junior high but when they get to SHS that opportunity is not there because the children attend secular schools.

He said the cost of the project is 2million Ghana cedis and has therefore called on all and sundry to come to their aid.

Imam Yakubu the Human Resources Officer of Dormaa Municipal Education Directorate stated that plans are far advance and in the nest academic year they will admit students in Dormaa Islamic SHS, and also called on Muslim parents to take advantage of the school.
