Jaman South District Assembly confirms DCE

Assembly members in the Jaman South District have confirmed Mrs Dora Ama Tamea, the President™s nominee as the District Chief Executive.

Mrs Tamea, a teacher, polled 48 votes, representing 87 percent of the 55 valid votes cast in the election organised and supervised by the District office of the Electoral Commission.

The Assembly also elected Mr Alexander Ferkah, Assemblyman for Drobo, as the Presiding Member.

Mr Michael Amponsah, Deputy Brong-Ahafo Regional Director of the National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE), and the former Presiding Member failed to file nomination papers to contest the post for the second time.

Mrs Tamea thanked the assembly members for the confidence reposed in her and pledged to work with all members irrespective of their political inclination.
