MCE pays courtesy call on chiefs

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of Jaman South Mr. Andrews Bediako has paid a courtesy call on Chiefs and people of Atuna, Ntaabene, Pewodea, Kwameprawkrom and Baatea to officially introduce himself and also seek their blessings.

The visit forms part of the MCE’s visit to the various traditional authorities and elders as he commences his familiarization tour in the Municipality.

In his interaction with the people, the MCE noted that peace is the only thing that can bring development in the area, and therefore called for peace in the Municipality.

He assured that, he also will be working hand in hand with the Chiefs in all spheres to bring socio-economic development to the people. He said his administration will build an open-door system where ideas gearing towards the development of the Municipality would be welcomed.

Mr. Bediako charged the youth to take advantage of the government's flagship programs such as planting for food and jobs as well as export to improve their living standards and also mentioned that, the current government is the only government that can bring development to the door steps of the people and improve their livelihoods.

The MCE noted that as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, government expenditure has gone up, hence the introduction of the E-levy to support government's efforts to bring development to the people and therefore appealed to residents to support the E-levy tax system.
