JaSDA holds 2nd General Assembly Meeting

The meeting, which came off on October 26, 2017, is billed to be climaxed on Friday, the following day.
Some of the issues being deliberated upon are the Presentation of the 2018 Composite Budget and Fee-fixing Resolution; likewise the 2018 Annual Action Plan.
The Assembly equally took turns to thoroughly discuss the District Chief Executive's previous Sessional Address, which took place during the 1st Ordinary Meeting of the 6th Session of the General Assembly on July 27, 2017.
In his welcome address, the Presiding Member for the august House, Hon. Clement Adjei, hailed the members for conducting themselves so remarkably since the inception of their tenure of office a couple of months ago.
He craved their indulgence to continue to be diligent in pooling resources to support their respective electoral areas.
On his part, the DCE, Alhaji Abu, whose address touched on various interventions such as provision of social amenities, quality health services, security, roads, Education and such likes, maintained that Agricultural Development and viable infrastructural developmental projects were some key thematic areas high on the agenda to be tackled and completed.
He reiterated President Nana Addo Danquah Akufo Addo's policy earmarked for all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) to complete all old and ongoing projects before new ones were executed.
The DCE made a passionate appeal to all stakeholders involved to consider the confidence reposed in him and throw their weight solidly behind the JaSDA in its quest to attain a municipal status.
Presenting the 2018 Composite budget on the floor of the Assembly hall, Emmanuel Kudula, District Budget Officer, who gave the actual of revenue accrued by the Assembly as of July, this year, projected the grand total of the 2018 revenue mobilization target to be GHS 455,700.00.
He called for cooperation amongst Nananom, Assembly members, opinion leaders, Departmental Heads, Assembly staff and all stakeholders to ensure effective generation of substantial Internally Generated Funds (IGF) to augment the District Assembly Common Fund (DACF) and other related funds to help give the district a facelift.
