Focus on technical education for effective dev’t - Mbrantehene of Dibebi

The newly installed Mbrantehene of Dibebi a farming community in the Tain District in the Bono Region, Nana Ababio Alexander has made a clarion call on government to focus much attention on technical education to ensure effective development in the country.

Ababio Alexander believes technical education is the only way to help deal with unemployment among graduate and advised government to set aside some funds to help set the graduates up to establish them.

He made these remarks in an interview with ghanadistricts.com after his was installed the Mbrantehene of Debeni held in the chiefs palace.

The thirty- two year old Mbrantehene explained further that, "most of you parents wants your children to become a public officials but maybe nature does not takes it that way, please allow, help and guide their children in the younger stage when you see them with technical talent".

According to Nana Ababio Alexander who is also the procurement officer of International Oils and Fats Limited based in Techiman he is dedicated to his core mandate associated with his new role which is to coordinate and lead the youth in all endeavors, adding "I am ready to set myself as an example for my youth to follow".

He also outline some programs which he said will be introduced to uplift the image of his community such as construction of 3-unit junior high school block for the Methodist School, organize an inter schools quiz competition for about seven schools in the community annually and also award scholarship to some brilliant students who deserves it to the Senior High School to help boost the standard of education in the Dabebi community.

He stressed that "I have the interest to help train the youth on how to be successful in farming without traveling to urban community in search of a white color job which is not in existence. Again we will establish the Youth Conference which will coordinate and sphere head the overall development of beloved community".

"I wish to advice that Ghanaians especially the youth should remain focused on whatever they see themselves doing either a white color job, farming or labourer work and should desist from bad attitudes such as drugs, sakawa, robbery and all sort of bad attitudes because there is no short cut in life" he said.
