Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly presents scholarships to students

The Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly has awarded scholarship to 57 tertiary students in the Municipality through the Scholarship Secretariat scholarship program to enable them pursue various academic programmes at the tertiary level.

At a short ceremony organized by the Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly to present the letters to the students, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE ) of the area, Alhaji Seidu Alidu explained that, the government scholarship scheme has been there for a long time but the MMDAs level scholarship scheme falls in line with the strategic directive of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to have the scholarship scheme decentralized to ensure that Ghanaians from all walks of life benefit from the scheme.

He indicated that the validity of the scholarship is subject to annual renewal and the scholarship is liable to termination in the event of misconduct and failure to pass examination.

Alhaji Alidu noted that it is the desire of the current government that all Ghanaian children have access to the best form of education and and therefore encouraged the students to study hard, return with the knowledge to help the country.
