He reiterated that come September this year, those currently writing the BECE will be fortunate to be the first batch of students to benefit from the programme hence the need for them to study hard and pass well.

The MCE was addressing candidates at the various examination centres in the municipality when he toured the centres.

He charged parents not to burden children with household chores especially during these periods instead encourage them to read their books during their leisure time. He also advised students not panic about the exams they are about to write.

During the visit it was revealed that 10 students were absent out of the 2,792 students who are sitting for this year's BECE in the municipality at four (4) main centers including Kumasi Academy SHS, the Asokore Kampong Cluster of Schools, Saint Paul's Basic and JHS and the Asawasi Cluster of Schools.

The Municipal Education Director Madam Monica Ankrah also advised the students to desist from examination malpractices. She advised them to solve questions which are easier first before tackling difficult ones.

She is hopeful that this year's results will be an improvement of the previous years
