ASOKORE M: Brilliant but needy students receive scholarship

Fifty – seven students have received scholarships in the Asokore Mampong Municipality in the Ashante Region from the national scholarship secretariat to pursue their education in the various tertiary institutions across the country.

He said, this form of government decentralized scholarship to needy but brilliant students across the country to help them pursue their higher education.

The grant entails the payment of fees beneficiaries through their years of study at their various institutions and the fess would directly be paid to the institutions.

Speaking at the municipal meet the press series the Municipal Chief Executive Mr. Alidu Seidu explain that the assembly submitted 57 students to the Scholarship Secretariat in Accra and they were considered and granted the scholarship.

According to the MCE, an advertisement was made inviting applicants from the Municipality out of which the applicants were interviewed, adding that the Municipality submitted the same to the secretariat in Accra and the 57 of them were selected. Also besides this the assembly through her common fund had supported over 1,000 students.

He encouraged them to put seriousness in their studies and remember to return with the acquired knowledge to help their municipality.
