ASOKORE: MP, MCE commission KG block, inaugurates community health workers at Buoban

The Member of Parliament for the Asawase Constituency, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed with the Municipal Chief Executive for the Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly, Nurudeen Hamidan commissioned a four unit kindergarten/primary school block and inaugurated the community extension health workers at Bourbia, a suburb of the Asokore mampong municipal.

Delivering his key note address, the Member of Parliament, Hon. Muntaka Mohammed appealed to parents to take up the challenge in ensuring their wards/children are in school.

He also advised the teachers to do their best in providing quality teaching practices in imparting knowledge unto the children and also desist from absenteeism.
 
Hon. Muntaka Mohammed reiterated government’s plans of providing more school buildings and facilities to ensure a better system of education in the municipality.

He pleaded with the chiefs and elders to help in protecting the school lands from encroachers since there will be more expansion works.

Honourable Muntaka advised the community extension health workers to take their work seriously and also try to improve their educational background to help elevate them to another level in the health sector.

He talked about tolerance and discipline amongst the youth and advised them to stay away from violence during the election period.
 
The municipal chief executive Hon. Nurudeen Hamidan also mentioned government’s commitment in improving the standard of education in the municipality by providing massive infrastructure to cater for the growing school population and to do away with all schools under trees.

He talked about the governments social intervention programme such as the LEAP which has been expanded to cater for more vulnerable and aged in the society.

He said the municipality has had its share of employment with over six hundred people employed in different fields in the national youth employment program such as teaching assistance, community health workers and community police.

Hon. Hamidan advised the community extension health workers to do their work with diligence in the field. He pleaded with the various heads of authority to tolerate Muslim ladies/women who wear veil to school or work, since it is part of their religion.
 
Also present at the ceremony were the chiefs and elders of Boubai, the various Muslim heads of the community, staff and heads of department of the assembly.
