LEKMA: Unemployed young women receive training in flower and balloon decoration
The Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly's (LEKMA) Department of Social Welfare and Community Development has organized a training programme in flower and balloon decoration for local unemployed young women at Teshie.

The forty women, aged between 16 years and 35 years, were drawn from various social groups in town to become trainers of trainers to enhance the livelihood of the local women whose lack of employable skills make them vulnerable.
Speaking on the sidelines of the training session, Mr Wisdom Atiasie, Head of Department, called on citizens of the land to support the various District Assemblies by paying levies, rates and tolls.
According to him, when assemblies were well resourced, the vulnerable could easily be supported through training and other social interventions to enhance their livelihood.
Mr Genevieve Ofosu-Amaah, Municipal Head, Community Development, appealed for start-up capital in the form of soft loans to enable such trainees put what they have learnt into practice and work.
She said the Assembly would continue to sponsor such programmes through its meagre resources to help the vulnerable in Teshie.
Madam Leticia Lamptey, a flower and Balloon decoration trainer, said the trainees would need six months intensive training to sharpen their skills in the many forms of decorations adding that she was ready to take any of them under her wing to perfection.
