Items such as infusions, syringes, medical gloves and other surgical and medical equipment to help promote proper medical care were donated by the foundation.
Residents also benefited from a free medical screening organized by the foundation.
With the mission to support communities through the supply of medical equipment, Madam Nilda Ashietey, founder of the Nilda Foundation said, she was confident that the items could go a long way to help save many lives in the district.
She was also hopeful that the donation will help bring in more resources in the health facilities to be able to care for more patients and also improve access and quality of healthcare in the district.
She added that the donation and health screening also aims at bringing awareness to the deadly sickle cell and stroke diseases.
On her part, the District Chief Executive of the area, Sarah Dugbakie Pobee, said she was optimistic that the items would help facilitate healthcare delivery in all twenty electoral areas that fall under her jurisdiction.
She thus expressed gratitude to the foundation and called for more of such support to help improve healthcare in the district.
Considering the fact that the government alone cannot solve the numerous challenges in the health sector, the DCE used the opportunity to appeal to other philanthropists to emulate the foundation’s kind gesture by supporting health facilities in the district and the country as a whole.
Meanwhile, the foundation has so far donated similar items to health centres such as Poso, Ningo, Prampram, Atimpoku and Tetteh Quarshie health facilities.
