The new facility is built to help address post-harvest loses which have being a major challenge for farmers across the country.

And as one of the major markets in the area particularly for farm produce, the facility comes a welcome news to many traders since aside reducing post-harvest loses, traders would have a safer place to store their wares.

The Municipal Chief Executive, Alhaji Mohammed Salisu Bamba in his speech promised to ensure the facility is put to good use for purpose of which it was built and thanked the World Food Program (WFP) for this kind gesture.

He particularly singled out the Country Director of the World Food Program, Ms Rukia Yacoub for making it possible to have the warehouse in the municipality, adding it would go a long way to improve farming activities.

The Municipal Chief Executive was joined by the deputy Ashanti Regional Minister, Elizabeth Agyemang, the WFP Country representatives, the Municipal Coordinating Director, Alhaji Mohammed Adam Wunnam Baba Ramadan, the Municipal Director of Agriculture Mr. O'Brien Nyarko as well as Nananom to commission the facility.
