MCE visits exam centres

The Tano South Municipal Chief Executive, Collins Offinam Takyi paid a visit to BECE examination centres in the Tano South Municipality. Forty-Five Junior High Schools with a total population of 1, 577 candidates sat for the examination.

Out of the total population, 756 candidates were boys and the rest being girls. 19 candidates however did not turn up to write the examination.

The Tano South Municipal Director of Education, Mrs. Mabel Botokro, officials of the Tano South Municipal Assembly and the Municipal Directorate of Education accompanied the MCE for Tano South Municipal, Collins Offinam Takyi to visit the three Examination Centres namely; Bechem, Derma and Techimantia to interact with candidates, invigilators and supervisors.

Mrs. Botokro advised candidates not to carry any foreign materials into the examination halls and informed teachers and supervisors to abstain from any act which will undermine the conduct of the examination in the Municipality.



The Municipal Chief Executive, Collins Offinam Takyi extended the felicities of His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the President of the Republic of Ghana, the MP for Tano South Constituency and on his own behalf to the candidates and wished them well in their Examinations.



Hon. Takyi said, government has played its part by organising free Mock Examinations for the candidates and said the purpose of the Mock Examinations is to prepare candidates to be acquainted with the rules and regulations regarding to BECE’s writing. He said these candidates’ school fees and their examination fees are fully paid by Government and urged candidates to do their best to ensure they pass the exams and gain admission into free SHS.



Mr. Takyi advised the candidates not to panic since the questions they are going to meet are what they have been taught in school by their teachers and informed them not to indulge in any Examination malpractices which could lead to the cancellation of their papers and also told them not to send their mobile phones to the Examination Halls.
