Atwima Mponua rejects Regional Minister’s directive on DRIP equipment

Assembly Members of Atwima Mponua, together with the Nyinahin Traditional Council and the youth, have come together in one powerful voice to defy the directive from the Ashanti Regional Minister, Frank Amoakohene, to recall all bulldozers and wheel loaders under the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) initiative.

The group at a press conference expressed their outright rejection of the directive, demanding that the Regional Coordinating Council rethink this decision.

The people of Atwima Mponua made it clear that they will NOT allow the equipment — crucial for the development of their communities — to be taken away. They strongly believe that this directive is yet another attempt to undo the progress made under the previous government.

Justice Nkrumah Boateng, the Presiding Member, led the charge alongside his fellow Assembly Members in submitting a petition to the Regional Minister, emphasizing that the people of Mponuaman are united and will resist any efforts to deprive them of these essential resources.

Mponuaman’s youth and Nananom have vowed that they will not allow history to repeat itself, referring to the 2015 incident when a fire tender allocated to the district was taken away by the then government. “The community will not stand idle as their development is put at risk.

Atwima Mponua is standing strong. The people are unified, and they will not back down!”. They stated.
