AKROFUOM: Zoomlion partners Assembly to fumigate public places

The Akrofuom District Assembly in conjunction with the Zoomlion Ghana Limited has fumigated markets and other public places in the district for the second phase of the National Disinfection, Fumigation, and Cleaning Exercise.

The places that were fumigated in the district were Akrofuom (Police station, police quarters, market, lorry park, staff quarters, Assembly administration block, four public toilets, health center and the quarters); Ampunyase (lorry park, clinic, police station and quarters, public toilet and market); Mensonso (clinic, lorry park, and public toilet); Wamase (lorry park and clinic) and Sikaman (clinic, public toilet, police station and quarters).

Zoomlion Ghana Limited provided the Assembly with four new motorized sprayers (STIHL), chlorine, nose masks, gloves and boilersuit for the exercise while the Assembly also soaps, paper tissues, mobile van and other logistics for the exercise.

Addressing the traders before the start of the exercise, the District Environmental Officer, Mr. Robert O. Amankwah appealed to the traders and the commuters to cope with the COVID-19 protocol measures since there has not been a cure for the virus yet.

He added that the increasing number of coronavirus cases in the country is a worrying one and urged them to continue to observe all the safety protocols in order to stay safe.

The exercise was supervised by the District Chief Executive, Hon. Maurice Jonas Woode, Ag. District Coordinating Director, Mr. Ebenezer Douglas Ntiamoah, the Obuasi Zonal Officer of Zoomlion Mr. Maxwell Adufful and Mr. Appiah Numah.
