Revenue collectors receive training

Revenue collectors of the Wenchi Municipal Assembly have been trained on revenue collection and its management.

The training workshop, organized by the Municipal Assembly and GIZ-Ghana was to equip the collectors to among other things enhance revenue generation and mobilization.

The facilitator Mr. Naku Adama of Governance for Inclusive Development programme for GIZ Ghana disclosed the introduction of software called District Local Revenue (dLRe) on property rates and business operating permits.



The software captures details of Revenue Collectors to help track revenue flow and the amount generated to ensure efficient revenue management.

The Revenue Head of the Assembly Ms. Mavis Kwaah underscored the need for the training, thus, to educate the collectors, address revenue shortfalls, trace and track revenue sources, keep revenue records, detect and curb fraud, in enhancing revenue mobilization.



Ms. Mavis Kwaah assured the public of improvement in mobilization and urged them to timely and appropriately pay their rates to tackle developmental challenges.

The Revenue Collectors called for periodic sensitization with the Information Van of the Information Services Department (ISD) to curb the litany of challenges being faced in their line of duty.



The Revenue Collectors further asked to be resourced with motorbikes to facilitate their movements in revenue collection.
