She said between 500 and 800 displaced people, mostly women, girls and children who fled their homes at Gbinyiri and surrounding communities in the Savannah Region were presently sheltered at Subinso Number Two in the Wenchi Municipality of the region.

However, Mrs Kine-Lam in an interview at Subinso Number Two said that more assistance was required from the public and development partners to fend for the victims.

“In fact, the present condition of the victims, especially the children are not good and we need urgent humanitarian services for them”, she appealed.

Mrs Kine-Lam called on the government, security agencies, traditional authorities and key stakeholders in the Savannah Region to do more to resolve and stem the conflict to restore peace in the area.

“Peace is priceless and the nation requires absolute peace to accelerate development”, the NADMO Regional Director urged.

The Bono NADMO Office and the Wenchi Municipal Assembly later presented some relief items to the victims.
