ASOKORE M: CJ commissions new building for district court

Ghana’s Chief Justice, Her Ladyship, Sophia Akufo has commended the Asokore Mampong Municipal Assembly for putting up a new court House to help support judicial services in the area.

This comes after she had earlier threatened to close down the community’s only court for operating and administering justice from structure that did not meet the specification of the Judicial Service.

However, speaking at the commissioning of the building, Justice Sophia Akufo indicated that, such support from local assemblies is expected to go a long way to among other things fast track resolution of disputes, maintain rule of law and provide equal protection and justice to all Ghanaian citizenry.

She therefore, lauded the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) of the area, Alhaji Alidu Seidu for fulfilling promises made to ensure that the judiciary with a new building.

She also urged other assemblies to emulate Asokore Mampong by providing the judiciary with improved infrastructure.

The project was funded through the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF).
