DCE supports students with sports kits

The District Chief Executive (DCE) of Atwima Kwanwoma, Mr. Prince Karikari has donated two sets of jerseys, two footballs and volleyball to support each circuit as part of the annual inter-schools games competition.

The DCE together with the District Director of Education, Mrs. Doris Ofori at a visit to the Ahenema Kokoben, Kotwi and Konkori circuits to witness the 2022 inter-schools sports competition presented the items to the students.

Mr. Karikari reminded the students that one of the cardinal principles of sports is to enhance unity among people, which he noted was paramount for peaceful socio-economic development.

According to him, sports are a cost effective, flexible and powerful tool in promoting peace and development objectives.

It brings people together regardless of their origins and backgrounds, and further facilitates mutual understanding and dialogue.

He then encouraged them, especially the various athletes to take their individual sport talents seriously, as it is also a great means of building a meaningful career and a future for one's self and the country.
