Media personnel hail Atwima Kwanwoma DCE
Media personnel hailed Atwima Kwanwoma District Assembly for the impressive performance in terms of developments in the district under the leadership of Nana Okyere-Tawiah Antwi, the District Chief Executive during its maiden meet the press series on 5th October, 2019 at Twedie Methodist Church.

Over thirty media personnel who attended the meet the press series commended the district for such a performance especially in the area of infrastructure. Even though many questions were asked deplorable roads networks dominated and were concern about when the contractors would come back on site to complete the roads especially Dechemuoso to Trabuom road in order to assist the commuters.
In response to their concern, Nana Antwi disclosed that all the contractors have been paid and some of them are back on site whilst the rest will soon be back on site. He also disclosed that all the roads network in the district have been given on contract and some of them have completed and the rest are at different levels of completion.
Dr. Kojo Appiah Kubi, Member of Parliament for the Atwima Kwanwoma Constituency added that the contractor on Dechenmuoso to Trabuom road is currently on site and promise to complete by the end of 2020.
Other questions and concerns of the journalists were on the good publicity and government flagship programmes like One-District-One Factory, One-Million dollars One-Constituency, planting for food and jobs, Nations Builders Corps (NABCO) and more.
Persons with Disabilities.
In his address Hon Nana Okyere-Tawiah Antwi disclosed that the assembly in collaboration with the Fund Management Committee (FMC) have disbursed about GHC90, 000.00 by procuring and distributing business startup tools and equipment such as fufu pounding machines, deep freezers, cutlass sharpeners, popcorn machines etc.as well as payment of medical bills and fees for over 120 PWDs.
Education
Under education, Nana Antwi stated that the introduction of the Free Senior High School policy coupled with the support from the district assembly has led to increase in 2018 BECE placing the district at the 4th position nationwide and 2nd at the Regional level and 2018 best of the girls in ICT contest.
He expressed his appreciation to the president for enabling 54 tertiary students benefited from an amount of GHC75000.00 from the district through the decentralized scholarship scheme.
Planting for Food and Job
Under the planting for food and job, he disclosed that about 65000 cocoa seedlings were distributed to 325 cocoa farmers across the district. He added that the Assembly organized a mass cocoa spraying exercise at Biragokrom and its surrounding villages in the later part of 2018.
One-District-One FactoryNana Antwi noted that under the 1D1F, the Assembly is benefiting from five factories among are Sow Consult, Asamoah and Yamoah, Abiding Health Pharmacy Company and Sanitino Meat and Sausages with Sow Consult and Asamoah and Yamoah farms are in operation.
He added that the ENABLE YOUTH PROJECT has also introduced under the 1D1F policy in order to empower the youth by giving them ownership of the factory to create jobs for them.
Infrastructure
Hon. Nana Antwi stated that central government and the district have committed a lot of investment in the area of infrastructure in the area of CHPS compound, roads and education as a result of the fast development of the district and the demand for them. He highlighted some of the projects which included Brofoyeduru-Bebu-Adumasa-Foase road, Aburaso-Kromoase-Yabi-Dida-Afrancho Road, Sabin Akrofoum Junction-Trede-Mpatasie Road etc. as well as the Sabin Akrofoum Junction-Paa-AdumAfrancho-Konkori-Asaago-Krofrom and Kotwi-Bekwaimin-Kyekyewere-Kwanwoma roads which are near completion.
Under health he stated projects like CHPS compound in the communities like Yabi, Trede, Apemanim, Asaago, Boko, Krofrom and tools and equipment distributed to all health facilities in the District.
Infrastructure for Poverty Eradication Project (IPEP) ($1M1C)
Under the IPEP programme which is funded from the 1 million dollars per constituency, Nana Antwi stated that a total number of 10 key projects are being implemented and are at various stages of completion among are Construction of 16-Seater WC toilet at Twedie, construction of 8-seater WC toilet at Kromoase, construction of 8- Seater WC toilet at Trede, drilling and construction of 3-No mechanized boreholes each at Bebu, Twedie and Chichibon, construction of modern market at Yabi, construction of 2-No. CHPS compound at Apemanim and Boko as well as the construction of 8-seater WC toilet at AdumAfrancho.
