NSS personnel undergo orientation

Mr. Alex Opoku Mensah, Ashanti Regional Director of National Service, has advised National Service personnel to remain discipline and punctual in line of their work to offer them the chance to enter the labour market through work after their service period.

He was speaking at an orientation for fresh service personnel at Foase in the Atwima Kwawoma District.
 
According to him, National Service provides the needed platform for personnel to showcase the knowledge they have acquired in school to assist in the nation building.

He added that this cannot be achieved without regular and discipline at work, adding that personnel should always endeavor to seek permission from appropriate quarters before absenting themselves from work.


“Let us do this as our own work for the development of our nation”, he said.

Mr. Mensah further advised personnel especially those already on government payrolls to desist from taken double allowances; an offence, he added was punishable by law.


Madam Comfort Suglo (District Health Director) also advised the personnel to abide by the code of ethic of the institutions in which they find themselves.


She also advised them to desist from alcoholism, theft, sexual harassment and any other immoral act at work place.

Speaking on behalf of the District Chief Executive, Nana Okyere Tiwah Antwi, welcome urged NSS personnel to exhibit good attitude at work.

He noted that national service person have a key role to perform in the nation building as government is also doing everything possible to better the life of the people.


The dignitaries present were Abubakar Salifu (Ag. Development Planning Officer) who represented the District Chief Executive(DCE), Mr. Nuhu Ibrahim(I.S.D) Lawrence Kwame Berkhie, Adriana Opoku Mensah(District National Service Scheme Coordinators), Mr. Alex Mensah( National Services Regional Director), Mr. James Kwasi Asabil (HR) and Madam Abena ( Ghana Education Service) and Madam Comfort Suglo( District Health Director).
