“ We need development’’ - Assembly members to govt
Assembly members of the Asunafo North Municipal Assembly in Ahafo Region have called on the government to as a matter of urgency institute measures to address the inadequate social amenities in the area.

They observe the lack of good roads, portable water, sanitation and job opportunities for the youth is detrimental to development and poses a national security threat.
The house therefore tasked the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Osei Yaw Boahene to liaise with the central government to speed up development of the regional capital.
The assembly members made these disclosures at its first ordinary meeting of the seventh session in Goaso.
Members unanimously agreed to pass a bye law to increase the rate of taxable items to improve on their internally generated revenue to support government’s interventions in the area.
Responding to their request, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Osei Yaw Boahene, assured the house of government's commitment to ensure it provides for the needs and welfare of Ghanaians by initiating projects that are geared towards their interest.
He called on members to support the assembly to revamp the MIM Bour Tourist Centre not only as a source of income but to address the employment needs of the area.
On education, the MCE tasked the house and parents to focus on vocational and technical training.
He pledged his willingness to introduce projects and interventions that will be beneficial to all and called for support from all stakeholders.
The session was attended by Chiefs, Heads of Department, media and a cross section of the general public.
