He said it was imperative for them to be very judicious in the use of the meagre resources at the disposal of the Assembly and also set right priorities to be able to provide quality services.

Addressing an ordinary assembly meeting at Offinso, the MCE said, the task of raising revenue collection and implementing decisions were also crucial in the development of the municipality.

Mr Amponsah advised the assembly members to be abreast with new technological developments and also embark on programmes and activities that would inform and educate the people to accept their civic responsibilities.

Touching on peace and security in the area, the MCE called on the members of the Assembly to form community watch committees in their areas to support the Police to combat crime in the municipality.

On health, Mr Amponsah said, the assembly would enforce environmental laws and appealed to the members to educate the people on how to observe personal and basic hygiene to compliment programmes being made to fight malaria.

He urged the assemblies to form community response initiative teams in their areas to deal with issues concerning HIV-AIDS, because sources indicate that the rate of infection was high.

Mr Amponsah said the Assembly has taken delivery of a new grader purchased through the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development, which would used to undertake road rehabilitation and construction in the Municipality.
