Offinso Assembly disburses items to PWDs

Eighty-three thousand two hundred Ghana Cedis worth of items comprising; deep freezers, industrial sewing machines, knapsack sprayers, electric oven, mobile transfer and accessories, provisions, among others have been disbursed to persons living with disabilities in the Offinso Municipal Assembly.

Sourced from the Disability Fund, these items are meant to ease the burden on the disabled but not to solve their problems completely.

MCE for Offinso Municipal Assembly, Solomon Kesseh who led donation of the items in front of the assembly block advised the 60 beneficiaries to use them to improve their own lives. According to the Chief Executive, each beneficiary is given what he/she requested.

Mrs. Edith Precious Lumorvi, the Municipal Social Welfare Director, and Mr. Mathew Kubachua - President for Ghana National Association of the Deaf both expressed gratitude to the government and the assembly for this support.

Mr Kubachua is optimistic that the continuous implementation of this programme can drastically reduce the number of street beggars.
