Shai – Osudoku Roads will be fixed - DCE

The District Chief Executive for Shai Osudoku District Assembly in the Greater Accra Region, Mr. Daniel Akuffo, has enlightened the people in the District about government’s repackaged and re-awarded contracts of Shai – Osudoku roads to enhance the quality of life of residents.

He said road projects were dear to President Akuffo – Addo and that the District would benefit from his government to construct more roads in the area including Tema - Akosombo road, Dodowa town roads 6.7km, Dodowa - Afienya among others which have been awarded on contract.

Mr. Akuffo assured the chiefs, youth groups, taxi and commercial drivers, and market women in the district to exercise restrain since the roads would soon be repaired.

He, therefore, took the opportunity to advise the people to stop developing flood-prone areas in the district, adding that some parts of the district continue to flood just because people empty their bins in gutters and waterways including some portions of Asutsuare and Dodowa Metro Mass. It, therefore, becomes difficult to rescue people around when the area floods.

“We have now rectified drainage to collect water to some point from Dodowa market to Poorduku through to Rama Town. We have now truncated to metro mass” he said.

He added that the government and chiefs in the area would strictly enforce environmental laws to protect the people from disaster.
