The initiative, implemented as part of the Assembly’s commitment to supporting persons with disabilities, seeks to provide beneficiaries with sustainable income-generating opportunities to enable them to become economically independent and improve their standard of living.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) Hon. Alfred Allotey-Gaisie indicated that the initiative is expected to assist beneficiaries in establishing or expanding small-scale businesses and other livelihood activities based on their individual skills and interests adding that beyond financial empowerment, the programme is also intended to promote dignity, self-reliance and social participation among persons with disabilities.

He therefore encouraged beneficiaries to make effective use of the support, manage their businesses responsibly and work towards building sustainable livelihoods that can provide long-term benefits for themselves and their families.
