Inauguration of the 8th Session of the Ledzokuku Assembly

The Deputy Minister for Local Government and Rural Development, Mr. Osei Bonsu Amoah has charged the newly sworn Assembly Members and Unit Committee Members of Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly to ensure effective cooperation and development within the Municipality.

According to the Deputy Minister, the development of slums in marshy areas and houses built on waterways has become phenomenon with serious implications for national development and public safety. He described the menace as a challenge to development and urged them to play a vital role in ensuring compliance to curbing the situation to bring sanity in the communities.

Mr. Bonsu made this pronouncement when he spearheaded the inaugural ceremony for new Assembly Members and Unit Committee Members on behalf of the President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo at the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly.



It also encouraged the newly Assembly Members to bring transformational change in the lives of the people while supporting the Assembly to raise its internally generated funds through the Property Addressing System and other innovations instituted by the government.



The Municipal Chief Executive for Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly- Honourable Mrs. Evelyn Naa Adjeley Twum-Gyamrah advised members not to seek their personal interests against the public good in their four -year tenure in office.

She charged them to be responsible members in the discharge of their duties, particularly in the area of sanitation and therefore urged them to organize cleanup exercises to keep their electoral areas clean.
