Second Lady visits Awutu Bawjiase Home

As part of the commemoration of The World Book Day, on Thursday, April 23, 2020, the Awutu Senya constituency in the Central region was honoured to welcome the Second Lady of Ghana, Hajia Mrs. Samira Bawumia together with her SEHP‘s Foundation Library-In-A-Box Project.

Mrs. Samira Bawumia, a strong advocate for youth literacy, donated a variety of books, various food items, toiletries, and sanitizers to the Countryside Children's Welfare Home at Awutu Bawjiase. whilst strictly observing the social distancing protocols.

In her presentation, the Second Lady stated that “In these unprecedented times in our country and across the world, where schools are closed due to the Covid-19 pandemic, literacy should continue to be fostered in the absence of face to face classroom education".



Again In partnership with and appreciation to the SEHP Foundation, we encourage our ASW youth to continue to expand their minds through the love of reading.

In attendance were The Member of Parliament, George Nenyi Anda, Deputy Central Regional Minister Thomas Adjei-Baffour, Robert Kutin Jnr, Central Regional NPP Chairman; Regional Treasurer; Dr Joseph Kobina Essibu, and District Chief Executive Mr. Stephen Quaye, to welcome Her Excellency at the Countryside Children's Welfare Home at Awutu Bawjiase.
