Civil and Local Government staffs undergo training

The Civil and Local Government Staff Association Ghana in the Afigya Kwabre South District has undergone a day orientation exercise at Kodie Methodist Church.

The Human Resource Director at the Ashanti Regional Coordinating Council, Mrs. Vivian Akumia took the participants through the mandate, structure and core values of the service. She also took time to expatiate the functions of the Local Government Service as well.

She highlighted on recruitment, appointment procedures, departmental transfer, working hours of staff, condition of service for staff, discipline involving major and minor offences.

Mrs. Akumia stressed on the need for periodical workshops for the participants to be abreast with the times in order to enhance their knowledge and improve on their performance.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) Mr. Adu-Poku Christian indicated that the year would witness new structural development and warned against indolence and other impending vices among the Staff of which he had been tolerant for the past years.

He also disclosed that, he is making frantic effort for the elevation of the District to a Municipal Status
