Minister inaugurates projects in West Akim Municipality

Mr Eric Kwakye Daffour, the Eastern Regional Minister, together with the Member of Parliament for Lower West Akim Constituency Mr Eyiah Kyei Baffour has inaugurated projects completed by the West Municipal Assembly.

The projects include a 76 ultra-modern lockable store complex located at Asamankese funded by the Urban Development Grant from the World Bank, Community-based Health Planning and Services Compound (CHPs) located at Pabi, together with a 3-unit Kindergarten classroom block constructed  by the Member of Parliament.

Addressing the gathering, Regional Minister stated that, the community must cultivate good maintenance culture to help sustain the projects for a long time. He continued, the Lockable stores will help boost economic activities and reduce unemployment in the municipality which is a step in the right direction.



He urged the authorities of the assembly to cultivate the habit of maintenance and develop policies to prolong the lifespan of the facility.

The Traditional Authorities equally expressed their gratitude to the Minister, MCE and the MP for the edifice and promised to support every project that will help push the municipality.



On the Part of the MCE, Mr Seth Oduro Boadu said ‘’I made a firm assurance to implement programmes and projects that will help in the development of West Akim Municipality and its environs. The projects we believe will go a long way to affect the lives of our citizenry positively’’.



He however cautioned the public to stop the propaganda that projects being executed by the current government were started by the previous government.
